Owner

Matthew Kurtz

Matt is a dedicated pet professional and owner of Plain and Fancy Pet Salon, where he brings a touch of luxury to every grooming experience. A graduate of Adelphi University in New York (B.A. in Psychology, 1990), he combines his passion for animal care with a strong educational foundation.

 

Further specializing in the art of pet grooming, he earned his certification from the prestigious New York School of Dog Grooming in 2002.

 

Committed to staying at the forefront of the industry, he continually updates his expertise on the latest grooming trends and styles, ensuring his clients receive the best possible care. When he's not at the shop, you can find him playing tennis, playing piano, scuba diving, or at a show or concert.

Rosalie is truly the heart of Plain and Fancy Pet Salon. As our Front of House, she has been the friendly face of the shop for the last 18 years, making sure every pet and parent feels like part of the family.

 

As Matt's mother, she brings a personal touch to the salon. Her kindness and genuine love for animals have made her a familiar friend to everyone who walks through our doors. Whether she’s handling appointments or giving your pup some extra attention, Rosalie is a huge part of what makes our salon a special place.
